This is the official report, published nearly 11 months after the first and only atomic bombings in history (to date), of a group of military physicians and engineers who accompanied the initial contingent of U.S. soldiers into the destroyed cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The report presents a clinical description of the devastation, loss of life and continued suffering of the survivors that resulted from the world's first and only atomic bombings. The appendix is an eyewitness account, contrasting vividly with the dispassionate sang-froid of the report itself, written by a German Jesuit priest who survived the blast at Hiroshima, and whose order assisted in rescue efforts following the catastrophic attack. This recording was completed on the 63rd anniversary of the events. more

1983 kündigten die Japan Graphic Designers Association Inc. (JAGDA) und die Hiroshima International Cultural Foundation ihre Zusammenarbeit bei einem Projekt mit dem Thema 'Hiroshimas Geist' an und starteten eine Plakatkampagne mit dem Ziel, den Frieden im In- und Ausland zu fördern. Die Plakate der Serie haben Bürger*innen aus der ganzen Welt angesprochen und wurden in der Atombombenausstellung im Vorfeld des historischen Genfer Gipfels 1985 und in der Ausstellung 'Hiroshima: Eine Botschaft für den Frieden unter den Menschen', die 1997 in Barcelona und Valencia in Spanien sowie in Aosta in Italien stattfand. Das Plakat von 2008 wurde an mehrere Mitgliedsstädte geschickt, deren Bürgermeister Mitglieder der internationalen Gruppe Mayors for Peace sind. Das Projekt 'Hiroshima Appeals', das von 1983 bis 1991 jährlich durchgeführt wurde, wurde 2005 anlässlich des 60. Jahrestages des Endes des Zweiten Weltkriegs neu aufgelegt.Die Ausstellung umfasst heute 26 Poster und ist bereits zum 2. Mal in Hannover zu Gast. Bedingt durch die damaligen Corona Bedingungen konnte nicht alle Interessierten erreicht werden. Die aktuellen politischen Ereignisse haben uns motiviert, Hiroshima Appeals' zum zweiten Mal in Hannover zur 40-jährigen Partnerschaft mit Hiroshima im „aufhof' vorzustellen.Für Hiroshima Appeals haben wir ein hybrides Konzept erstellt. Mit dem Medium Podcast kann die Ausstellung nicht nur hier im „aufhof' mit Begleittexten „erhört' werden, sondern ist auch im Web sowie in innerstädtischen Ausstellungsbereichen (z.B. in Leerständen) bis zu 24 Stunden täglich zu besuchen. Wenn sie mögen auch in Ihrer Stadt.Wir bedanken uns beim Institut für Universal Design, dass wir Teil der interaktiven Wanderausstellung „aufaugenhöhe' sein dürfen.
