The Democratic Voice of Burma is a non-profit Burmese media organization committed to independent and responsible journalism. The DVB Foundation was registered in Oslo, Norway in 1992. DVB started as a shortwave radio service into Burma (Myanmar) but expanded its programming to begin satellite television broadcasts in 2005. DVB started broadcasting on a free-to-air digital TV channel on March 24, 2018. Since the 2021 military coup, it launched DVB Podcasts and DVB Radio to get critical news and information into the country via shortwave and online. more

The junta uses rape, torture, landmines, slavery and murder to force these people from their homes in order to exploit the riches of their lands. The international community, for the most part, has looked the other way. Some have managed to escape Burma and now, as refugees, they are imprisoned and forgotten in primitive camps along the Thai/Burma border. Haunted by the horror of their past in Burma and dealing with the suffering of their present living conditions in the camps, these are a people with little hope for the future. These are their stories and one small grassroots organization that is making a difference on the borderline. more
